About Us

Our Performance History

The performance group performed in New  York at venues including the Citicorp Theater at Alvin Ailey Studios Joan Weill Center for Dance part of International Dance Festival, the Dance Theater Workshop, the Harlem Stage, the HERE Theater, the Fringe Festival, the Howl Festival, the Chashama theater, the Dance New Amsterdam, the d.u.m.b.o Festival, the Flea Theater, Merkin Hall at Kaufman Center, the Construction Company, White Wave Festival, the Theater for The New City, F:T:H: festival and at the Merce Cunningham Studio.

Recently [NTPG]'s work is being presented at the XIII Almada Dance Festival in Portugal. Trifan's choreography for the Metamorphosis by Black Moon Theater was seen in Germany and England at the Chipping Norton Theater and the Bath Theater. In October 2007 the company represented the United States at the Danzalborde International Festival in Valparaiso/Chile. 

Awards, Grants Received

[NTPG] received numerous grants from Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation for USAInternational Artist program Trust for Mutual  Understanding, Queens Council for the Arts,  92y, the Field, art residencies from White Oak, Romanian National Dance Center, and awards from the Romanian Union of Composers and Choreographers. Additional support from Merce Cunningham Foundation.

Natasa Trifan Performance Group's repertory is known for complex synthesis of movement, image and concept, distinct European aesthetics, and clean, precisely-crafted works. The group has committed to promote original contemporary  music and international highly professional dancers who redefine and diversify the group's performance style.

[NTPG] investigates new approaches to multimedia performance using dance, image theater, theatre d'object, and video technology.
